RELIGION
Outcomes:
  • through activities, to explore and affirm my capabilities as a trace of God

Directions:
  • Make a Faith corner in your bedroom where you can spend a quiet time in prayer.
  • think about things that you might include such as a picture of Jesus that you have drawn, a rosay, a Bible etc.
RELIGION

  • through prayer to give praise ,thanks and guidance from God
  • Begin memorizing the Our Father prayer

Memorize the Our Father a few lines at a time.

Here are today's lessons:

MUSIC/ LITERACY
Outcomes:

  • explores and expresses ideas, perceptions, feelings and thoughts in a variety of forms: e.g. art, music, drama and movement

Directions:

LITERACY/SCIENCE (TO BE DONE WITH AN ADULT ONLY)
Outcomes:

  • explores and experiments with new words and terms associated with topics of interest
  • represents and talks about ideas and information; dictates to a scribe
Materials:

  • a lemon
  • saucer
  • water
  • teaspoon
  • cotton swab
  • white paper
  • lamp
Directions:

  • squeeze the lemon juice into the saucer.
  • add a few drops of water and mix well with the spoon
  • dip the swab into the lemon juice
  • use the swab to write a message on ordinary white paper
  • when it dries, the writing will be invisible
  • when you want to read the message, heat the paper by holding it near a light bulb and the words will appear on the page
Why?
The juice of lemons and other fruits contain compounds of carbon. These compounds are nearly colourless when you dissolve them in water. But, when you heat them, the carbon compounds break down and produce carbon, which is black. This activity is an old one from when Mme Jane taught junior high science.

  • writing instrument
  • scissors

Directions:

  • write the letters a-z on a piece of paper notice that the letters are lower case)
  • cut up paper so that there is one letter on each piece of paper
  • put the letters in order from a-z
