Bonjour!
Parents are always asking me how to reinforce school work at home. We are currently working hard on proper letter formation especially lower case letters. Extra practice with this is always a good idea.
There is a great series in french called ,"Super Mini". We watched "Super Mini cree des couleurs" today to reinforce colours. All of the Super Mini videos are great educational videos.
Beginners Bible is a wonderful video series of Bible stories for children. We often watch these during snack time.
I'll try to add extra tips regularly.

Bonjour!
We have added an elbow pump to our morning routine instead of shaking hands in Kindergarten. We also went over correct hand washing procedures and how germs enter our bodies through our nose, eyes and mouths mostly. I scrub the tables between classes normally so the children start their classes with clean tables. These are all normal procedures that we will be following from now on as they are good life skills.
Spring is on its way!

Bonjour!
We will be celebrating Valentine's Day on Wednesday, February 12. Please only write who the valentine is from and do not address the valentines to individual students. We will have the valentines bags all lined up and will just plop the cards in the bags. Please no nut products as we have some students with severe allergies in our class. The morning class has 19 students and the afternoon class has 18. Have a lovely weekend!

Bonjour!
Only one week left and we are bursting with activities at school!
On Tuesday , December 17 we will be holding a Christmas open house at the school! My two classes will be in half of the gym. We will not be in our classroom.We will be having a Kindergarten art show. The students will be displaying their Van Gogh inspired paintings. They will also be singing with Mme Berko in the gym at 6 pm. Hope to see you there!

Bonjour!
The school year is flying by way too quickly! This Wednesday, October 30 is Wear Orange and Black Day. We will be doing this instead of costumes.
October 31 is a PD day for the teachers so there will be no classes for the students.
On November 1 all of the staff of Calgary Catholic School District will be attending our annual Faith Day. There will be no classes for students.
Have a lovely long weekend with your families!

Bonjour!
We have been working hard on our oral numeracy and on our colours. This week the kindergarteners have been dancing hip hop as well. They will have a recital in the gym at 1:45 on Friday, October 25 if you would like to join us. Should any of the morning class like to come to the recital they are welcome to join in the performance with the afternoon class.

Bonjour !
I am using the classroom blog to communicate with classroom parents this year rather than emails. I am doing this for a few reasons. First of all parents often complain about the number of emails that they receive in a day and that often emails aren't seen because they get buried under other emails. Another reason is that in our modern day world some children live in a few different households. This way noone gets missed. All of this being said I will email parents individually or write in agendas if need be.
Reminder: tomorrow is school photo day!
